TestMyPing is designed to collect as little data as possible. Specifically:
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand aggregate usage — page views, country, device type, and session duration. GA4 anonymizes IP addresses by default. No personally identifiable information is linked to analytics events.
You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We use localStorage (not cookies) to remember your UI preference (classic/sleek) and dark/light mode setting. This data never leaves your browser and is not associated with any account or identity.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies (_ga, _ga_*) to distinguish users for aggregate reporting. These expire after 2 years.
We load the following third-party resources:
We do not sell your data to any third party. We have no advertising partners beyond standard analytics.
Contact form messages are retained for up to 12 months to allow us to follow up on any ongoing issues, then deleted. Analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google Analytics defaults. We do not retain any ping result data — it is never sent to us.
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold (principally contact form submissions). To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@testmyping.com.
If you are an EU/EEA resident, you have rights under GDPR including the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.
If you have any questions about this privacy policy or our data practices, please contact us at privacy@testmyping.com or use the contact form.
We don't store your ping results. We use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic data. Contact form submissions are kept for up to 12 months. See the full policy in the sleek view for details.
